The national Physical Education vision is that ‘all pupils leaving primary school to be physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.’

- We believe that a varied PE curriculum and wide-ranging, extra-curricular opportunities have a positive effect on concentration, attitude and enhance the academic achievement of all our children.
St Bede’s PE provision aims to embrace a range of games activities, gymnastics, dance, athletics, swimming and adventurous, outdoor activities.
Children have the opportunity to develop individual skills such as co-ordination, balance and control.
They plan, perform and evaluate their own and each other’s work.
Children learn to appreciate the benefits of cooperation and teamwork and come to understand the advantages of healthy, safe exercise to their general physical well-being.
We aim for at least two hours of physical activity per class per week.
